One-Click To Buy or Sell Electrical Equipment

November 15, 2009 – Looking for a hard to find transformer replacement? Need that motor control faster than the six-week lead time from the OEM? PEARL Link is your Internet-based answer to safe, reconditioned and surplus electrical equipment.

The Professional Electrical Apparatus Recyclers League (PEARL), a standards-developing group for reconditioning electrical gear with more than 50 corporate members, has added PEARL Link to its website, www.pearl1.org. Now with just one click, customers or sellers looking for hard to find electrical gear can send a RFQ to all of PEARL’s certified membership. Response emails come directly from each member company and will clearly specify the available options, from new equipment, to surplus equipment, to fully reconditioned used equipment. This service is free to the public.

Unlike similar features on general industry sites, customers can feel safe knowing that reconditioned electrical gear from PEARL certified members has been fully tested, reconditioned, and documented to work at least as good as or better than it did when first manufactured.

“The internet has become one of the primary methods of communication and reference,” notes Bill Schofield, PEARL Internet Committee Chairman and President of Circuit Breaker Sales (Gainesville, TX). “Accordingly, PEARL’s Internet and Marketing Committees have spent the last couple years developing PEARL’s Website -- from publishing safety and recall notices to original “How To Recondition Electrical” stories through our new PEARL $AFE e-newsletter.

PEARL Link is the logical next step in PEARL’s commitment to supplying safe industrial and commercial electrical service, while helping to save the environment and keep jobs at home.” Unlike most automated OEM manufacturing processes, PEARL’s reconditioning standards depend on skilled electrical technicians.

PEARL Link follows successful beta trials this past summer of a similar member-only link found on the PEARL Intranet. PEARL members have successfully used the internal link hundreds of times in recent months to share inventory and equipment availability, and to help customers get their electrical service back online safely, cheaply, and quickly.
