“Green Safety” Comes to Light at PEARL’s 2009 Electrical Safety and Reliability Conference & Expo December 2008 Also available in PDF format. Expert presentations show environmental and cost savings realized through standards-based reconditioning, while forensic scientists separate good reconditioning from bad through failed apparatus post-mortems.
AURORA, CO, December 15, 2008 – Saving the environment while protecting customers and their electrical budgets will be the focus of 2009’s Electrical Safety and Reliability Conference & Exhibition hosted by the Professional Electrical Apparatus Recycler’s League (PEARL) at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, April 18-20.
“Rising commodity and material costs were already pushing municipalities and contractors to explore environmental and cost savings affordable reconditioned electrical apparatus,” explains Mark Stone, PEARL’s Association Manager. “Now, with Democrats in charge of both Congress and the White House, the electrical market can expect additional legislation offering even more financial savings from ‘going green.’ Just as important is the ability to demonstratably prove that a reconditioned device is safe and performs to the original equipment manufacturers specification. That’s where PEARL electrical reconditioning standards come into play, completing the ‘green’ circle of safety and savings.”
The conference begins on Saturday, April 18 with a golf tournament and local PEARL facility tour. On Sunday, forensic engineers Helmut and Peter Brosz will use CSI-style investigations to show how good reconditioning practices lead to safe products while non-standards based reconditioning pose dangers. On the final day of the conference, Andrij Harlan from the National Center for Remanufacturing and Resource Recovery will discuss the environmental and financial benefits of remanufacturing and reconditioning, preceded by project management guru, Clinton Padgett’s Keynote address on how to manage for success.
Interested attendees and exhibitors should contact the PEARL office at (877) 287-3275, send an email to pearl@pearl1.org or visit www.Pearl1.org to save $100 through early registration. Corporations that join PEARL within 30 days of the conference will have their conference registration fee applied to their membership dues. PEARL’s 2010 conference is scheduled for the Westin Tabor Center in Denver, April 24-26.
